Throne of The Id by William-John-Holly Throne of The Id by William-John-Holly
Figured my drawings weren't nightmarish enough recently and I wanted to make something horrifying. I got this cute little critter instead.

Entirely drawn with black ballpoint on white paper. I intend to do more colored drawings soon, I just really wanted to get the light and dark balance in a black-and-white drawing really good again just to make sure I've still got it. I think it came out pretty damn good, one of my new personal favorites even. Tell me what you think!

I think what grabs my favourite on this one is that middle-bottom-upsidedown one. Although, logically, if he's upside down, wouldn't his throat-dangly not be hanging against gravity? XP

But that aforementioned middle-bottom one, it actually made me feel a little fear, and that takes a lot, for me. v__v so a well-deserved fave for you.

I continue to be amazed by what great work can be created with a single ballpoint pen. It's currently my weapon of choice so i love this

The melded look definitely gives me my gore fix for today. I find that melted looking things like this nightmare give you a sense that you could easily become one of this mass of faces, enticing some fear into the viewer.

My Lord, this is mildly terrifying. I'm kind of obsessed with faces and expressions, so this is pretty awesome for me. I seriously stared at this for a good five minutes before commenting. Still no idea what to say, really. I love it though.

Horrific, striking and well executed as always! I have a question, when you draw, do you start out with a clear idea of the artwork and its meaning or does it 'evolve' on its own?

So unique and eerie... its as if pizza the hutt grew faces out of its mozzarella body... just remarkable... you do black and white so exceptional that i wouldnt feel any pressure to go to color, sometimes, for me anyhow, its the best way to create an image. I'd love to see you maybe do a acrylic, or watercolor abstract background, and then do your awesome black and white characters over it =D

Oh lordy that movie is great. I wasn't thinking about it while I drew but I love that movie enough that I'm sure that on some subconscious level it inspired me to draw this :D
